Start the Device

  • In factory default state, the device is in Sleep Mode. Short press the button on the back of the device. The page refresh indicates that the device has been successfully powered on.
 

Download the APP and Register a BLOOMIN8 Account

  • Download BLOOMIN8 in the App Store or Google Play: iOS / Andorid
  • Please allow BLOOMIN8 to access the following permissions: Bluetooth, Local Network, and Wireless Data. When you open the app for the first time, the system will prompt you to grant these permissions. If you missed the prompt, you can enable them manually under Settings → Apps → BLOOMIN8.

  • Register a BLOOMIN8 account using an email address or a third-party account (Apple, Google).
  • After registration is successful, tap the “Devices” icon at the bottom of the APP to enter the Devices page. Tap the “Add Device” button, and then choose Eink Canvas Activate to start the activation process for the new device.

Bluetooth Pairing

  • Select the corresponding device from the detected devices list (the device name matches the BLE code shown on the device display) and wait for Bluetooth pairing to complete.
  • Or tap the Scan button in the APP, scan the QR code displayed on the device screen, and wait for Bluetooth pairing to complete.

Connect to WiFi

Please turn on WiFi on your phone and make sure the phone is connected to your home 2.4G WiFi. From the WiFi list, select the same WiFi network that your phone is connected to, enter the correct WiFi password, and tap the “Connect” button. Wait for the WiFi connection to complete.
Common reasons for WiFi connection failure include:
  • The selected WiFi is not the same as the one your phone is connected to.
  • Incorrect WiFi password.
  • Page timeout due to staying on the page too long.

Change Device Name

Set a unique custom name for the device to make it easier to identify. This step can be skipped and modified at any time later.

Activate Device & Update Firmware

  • Wait for the device to finish activation.
  • Once activated, it will automatically check for new firmware and upgrade if available.

Choose Device Orientation

  • Select the placement orientation of the device (this can be changed anytime later).
  • Upload your first artwork and enjoy the visual impact brought by BLOOMIN8!

Device Card

  • Once activated, a device card will be generated on the Device page, where you can adjust the device settings anytime.
